“…The choice for revenge is upheld by a current of rage that is a response to hopelessness and helplessness — rage and the desire to take control that grows when it seems that survival is at stake, or if not survival, then the inherent dignity which each human being has the right to claim as their own. Hopelessness and helplessness create a need to turn despair into action, helplessness into power. This is the psychological foundation for action that seeks revenge.

But there is often a seeming moral and spiritual foundation that accompanies the desire for revenge as well, a foundation that appears to justify in terms of higher principle, the taking of human life. This justification comes from the belief that in the battle between good and evil, that God is with one’s own side and ‘the enemy’ is on the other. Thus, there is the vindication of violence against others, built on the idea that God sanctions and upholds those who take life in the name of what is ‘right’, and on the accompanying idea that one’s own perception correctly discerns what God has deemed to be ‘right’.

Violence committed in the name of God is not new. History is filled with it...

…The rising tide of revenge that we see in the world around us and that is reflected in the articles below mystifies us. It is as if a ‘lid’ has come off that which had kept contained energies of hatred and destruction, of indifference to the suffering of others, of the desire to pursue one’s own ends no matter what the cost. Something has removed this ‘lid’ and exposed the impulse toward terrible action, terrible tragedy. In human terms, to say that this is a feature of the ‘purification of the earth’ does not seem to do justice to the loss of human life involved, to the cost in human suffering involved, even if it is true….

…No, the idea of the ‘purification of the earth’ does not do justice at all to the pain involved. Nevertheless, this is what is manifesting as violence increases. It is what causes the ‘lid’ to come off that which used to keep energies of hatred and of destruction more contained. It is what allows the rising into consciousness of the underlying dark side of human motivation. We can weep with those who become victims at the hands of this terrible energy. We must weep. But it is also necessary that we seek to align with the forces of progress, of evolution, and of light, so that in the midst of this great upwelling of human darkness, we can hold this light for ourselves and others.

Now is a time for prayer — for strengthening our own spiritual alignment. It is a time to refuse to fall into the collective energy of fear, anger, or despair, no matter how potently we may feel these around us. Instead, we must pray for the awareness of light to make itself felt everywhere, most particularly, in the midst of our own everyday lives. By holding onto peace within ourselves, by trusting the unfolding purposes of light, we can contribute, even now, to the peace of the world.”

Hello Dear Readers,

One might assume after reading these quotes from a teaching written by GurujiMa in 2004, that these were written more recently.

I highlighted this teaching as I feel a direct correlation between the actions and manipulation of collective American consciousness building up the the attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan and the political outrage - “sea of angry voices”, that we are collectively experiencing today. Being consciously aware during that time of the energies of revenge - never directly addressed or spoken yet always present - there were times in which I felt alone, knowing in my heart, that attacking these countries and the innocents who lived there, primarily peoples of the Muslim faith, as well as other faiths, were not only wrong, but vengeful.

The energies surrounding these political events, the building of political and national rage, did not dissipate in the ensuing years, for energies never disappear, they are transformed.

T.V. media and other media outlets found that rage sells, their ratings went up. Some politicians learned that engaging with the energies of rage and destruction could garner votes and media coverage. Rage as a form of communication proliferated and then along came a man who not only exploited the unhealed rage and pain, but came with his own agenda and beliefs regarding the energies of rage, hatred, revenge and destruction.

One could say with confidence that these manipulations of collective consciousness go deeper and have a longer history. And this would be true. But for this posting, I am focusing on the energies of separation, rage, destruction, and vengefulness anchored in the collective consciousness of this nation after September of 2001 and the energies manifesting in the consciousness’ of a vocal and increasingly powerful minority today.

The power to transform these energies is awaiting all who choose to heal and grow in the Light. Peace is… possible.

The Purification of the Energies of Patriarchal Hegemony

From it seems, time immemorial, women have and continue, to experience ‘domestic’ abuse. Far too many times the violence they experience leads to their death. Sometimes as well as their children’s death and other family members and friends. The sovereignty of the woman herself is called into question by not only her partner, but by society at large, based upon the ancient beliefs and energies of patriarchal hegemony.

When I look at the maps of the troops menacingly situated along the Ukrainian borders, I have a reoccurring vision in my mind of a woman who has told her husband she wants a divorce. She wants to live in her own sovereignty. The troops amassed on the border carry the energies of a husband unwilling to let her go, so he has gathered his friends and they are outside of her home, menacing and threatening her with death and destruction until she submits to his will - his ownership of her sovereignty.

What we tolerate in a planetary society on the micro level, manifests itself on the macro. I believe what we are witnessing are the purification - the bringing to the surface - of the energies of patriarchal hegemony. Not only in Ukraine, these energies have been surfacing in Palestine, Hong Kong, the threats to Taiwan and elsewhere on the planet where peoples who long to live in their sovereignty, in freedom, are being denied the right to do so based on very, very, ancient energies and patterns related to patriarchal hegemony.

Prayers for the suffering of all involved - from the home to the homelands.

Prayers for the families who lost loved ones eight years ago when Crimea was invaded.

Prayers for the sufferings and sorrows of the Ukrainian peoples.

P.S. For those readers who are new to my posts, since I have been alive, the United States has been invading sovereign nations, and at times undermining democracies around the world. The latest being Iraq and Afghanistan. I have watched in horror and powerlessness at the destruction of Syria and Yemen.

Something is different this time. My mind cannot perceive exactly what this energetic change is. I have been perceiving that this invasion into Ukraine (may their peoples feel the strength of prayers and support of their needs in their times of sorrows and sufferings), may be a harbinger of a paradigm shift.

I perceive that something related to the energies of patriarchal hegemony is fundamentally changing in ways we may not be consciously aware of in this moment but will be revealed in time. These most recent actions of one sovereign nation which feels they have a right to attack (usually the excuse proffered -' we felt threatened ') another sovereign nation as the world watches helplessly, and the paradigm of patriarchal hegemony are all coming into what feels like collapse with an eventual new paradigm emerging.

If one listens to the minority of the loudest voices seeking social relevance and recognition one will hear echos of the past - the patriarchal threatening and high-fiving of the actions of the 'strongman' -"their admiration, respect - praise of their strength, their genius", the authoritarian wannabe's saluting the actions of a dying hegemony and a collapsing paradigm.

The most noble of intentions when they are ethically erroneous will draw to their actions the aspirations of the energies of darkness avariciously hidden within the hearts and minds of embodied souls who wish to uphold and benefit from the age old paradigm of patriarchal hegemony.

Reality is changing. Stay awake. Hold each other in your heart's. Prayers are never wasted.

In this morning's Guided Meditation, GurujiMa asked us to hold a dream of what the world can be in our heart.

What I envisioned in my dream was a quantum leap for humanity, in which we entered into a new reality. I remembered a teaching in which GurujiMa was speaking of a new spiritual reality - a reality in which suffering is no longer the means by which we grow.

That is my dream.

GurujiMa shared with us that in regards to our dreams that "joyful anticipation opens the door to realization." I bring this sacred vision to you Dear Readers in such anticipation which I hold in my heart for all. Know that without a doubt Dear Readers, that this dream is always in my heart.

"The heart that bears the suffering of the world to any degree is already doing something that is of value to the world. And the heart that commits itself to bearing the suffering of the world and uplifting this suffering into the oneness and power of Divine light and love is doing even more to contribute to the healing of all.

Commitment means acting as a bridge between that intense suffering and the place within us that connects with the creative Divine action that can both hold it and heal it. Within this place we know and acknowledge the pain of others, and seek to redeem it by bringing it to the Divine Oneness that can uplift and heal all. Thus, it is that those dedicated spiritual beings who, in times gone by and in the present as well, were and are the desert Fathers within the Christian tradition; or who were and are the yogic masters within the Hindu tradition; or who were and are the renunciates within the Buddhist tradition, all of whom live lives of spiritual activism by virtue of their commitment to uplifting and transforming the suffering of the world through acting as an inner bridge.

...Spiritual activism is an activism of the heart that wishes to participate in the healing of the world, and makes a commitment to that intention. This is no small thing. It is the means by which a spiritual practice is undertaken of any kind that resonates with the heart and soul, not for the benefit of self but for the benefit of the world.

…This way of viewing spiritual activism makes of each of us a great source of healing, and we need to re-conceive of ourselves in this way. We are more powerful than what we have believed ourselves to be because we are connected in the most intimate way with all. And when our love and prayers for healing and our awareness of being part of All link up to address the suffering of the world or of any part of it, our wishes manifest as currents of energy that move toward the object of our love and join with all other currents that hold the same intentions.

May each of us come to know the capacity for healing that is present within us because we are One. May each of us come to cherish that connection, for it is a gift of Love from the One who is All, and the power of it can heal the world."

The energies of fear - (False Evidence Appearing Real) based rage and anger block through the temporary loss of will and at times, conscious awareness, the ability of Love and Light to permeate any difficult situation. The energies of fear, fueling rage, can and often does, block the mind from engaging with the energies of trust. The energies of fear, fueling rage and anger, hurt not only the person experiencing the energies - the can also harm or hurt - through lack of containment and expression of the energies, especially rage and anger, others who take in these energies. The word ‘fuel’ is used intentionally as these energies are fire-like in their ability to harm and destroy.

I saw a meme recently. It was a drawing with four quadrants describing 'transference'. In the first quadrant a man is being exposed to the energies of anger by his boss. In the second quadrant this same man is at home expressing anger at his wife. In the third quadrant his wife, is expressing anger at their son, and in the last, the boy is expressing anger at his teddy bear. Transference is the unseen fire of spread through the energies of anger and rage.

"One of the primary principles of purification has to do with containment. To ‘contain’ means to hold back, to hold within, or to carry something within a vessel, enclosure, or organism. In relation to purification, what we contain are energies of darkness that we do not wish to go out into the world. We hold them within our bodies until they pass from our consciousness. The principle of containment relies on two more fundamental principles that are at its foundation: that of energy, and that of identity."

It has been my experience on a spiritual path of Light that in order to spiritually evolve, one must learn how to contain difficult emotional energies. This is no easy task. It is made even more difficult as we live in a society which has found that the free expression of the energies of rage and fear are profitable, politically powerful, and hold the possibility of social and media relevance. Without containment, transference of the fire-like energies will continue cyclically often bringing pain, exhaustion, and sorrow to all involved and exposed to the energies.

"Energies that are not love and that are not light are carried within each human being. They pass through us as emotions and as thoughts but they are not who we are.This is a fundamental tenet of purification. We feel and think often in negative ways, but our feeling and thinking is reactive to the world of events that we have lived with since childhood. Our feeling and thinking are conditioned by these events and form our personalities. These personalities are not us. They are emotional vehicles available to us for our learning. They are not our souls which have a positive nature."

Personal Thoughts - Coercive ‘Unity’ and “Unity’

The harshness you feel toward yourself will be the harshness you feel toward others. Where love is not present, unity cannot be present. Where forgiveness is not present, unity cannot be present. We cannot put into practice the principle of unity unless we get out of our own way.

Coercive Unity

Coercive unity is fundamentally sustained by the energies of fear. Fear of ‘Other’ and a more deeply rooted fear of change - growth.

The energies of coercive unity are insidious. The underlying message is - “I do to like how I feel in a unified field where all are recognized and respected no matter their differences as embodied souls. As such, I will destroy that which is causing me to feel this pain, force those deemed as ‘Other’ to submit to my (our) will, and I (we) will remake reality in our image and likeness”.

There is no tangible security from uncomfortable or painful feeling and emotions in this prospect of embodied life. For these untransformed energies, separated from Love and Light, will never be satiated. The energies will claim in the consciousness of those enthralled, the need of greater control of each and every aspect of the lives of embodied souls who do not conform to the perceptual reality of “you’re not made in our image and likeness”. Oft times, the name of God, religious, tribal, or national supremacy is invoked in justifying actions which are in their essence, are anti-God, anti-Light, anti-Love. Many embodied souls who embrace the message of the energies of coercive unity will continue to perceive ‘Otherness’ as evil and something which must be destroyed.

“…We have such a hunger for human unity. Especially, today, when our consciousness is being turned to those people of a different skin color who have been excluded from our sense of unity to a great degree, we are hungering even more. We hunger for a sense of belonging to a human family with all others. The paradox arises that even while wishing for this, even while longing for it, we often get in our own way, not understanding that we need to practice unity, practice it daily, moment-to-moment. We can’t want it for others without wanting it and practicing it for ourselves. It’s not possible. Each of us has to observe how, in certain instances, we exclude others from our consciousness and from our heart’s love. We may do this because of prejudice, racial or otherwise, but we do it even more because of all the judgments we make about why people do what they do, and all the intolerance's we hold about what they do.”

Unity cannot claim to be true to its origins and meaning if it allows even one other to be held as less worthy than the rest.

Unity is fundamentally sustained by the energies of love, compassion, trust, and a willingness to accept that which may be difficult to comprehend, holding that all are growing as embodied souls in the Light. True unity does not seek to change another so that one embodied soul feels more comfortable in the presence of that which is perceived as ‘Other’ or different. Inclusive unity does recognize the need for accountability and responsibility - to each other, to the precepts of love.

Unity embraces all embodied souls as individuals made in the image and likeness of God, (for those who do not believe in God - one could says that God - Good - Orderly - Direction - is the flow of energies bring forth goodness, and an orderliness which holds at its core, harmony and love, the direction being anchored in soul growth).

The epoch of one embodied soul forcing another embodied soul, or a group of embodied souls forcing another group of embodied souls to submit to their wills and be remade in their image will not always be the paradigm for embodied souls here on the Earth. For all was created in Unity and all will return to Unity. Not through coercive interventions, rather through a paradigm shift springing forth from the energies of Creation Itself - Love.

Invocation of Light Needed

Dear Beloved Ones,

I am writing to you because there is a strong need to invoke and strengthen the light present on Earth against the tide of darkness that has been unleashed with President Putin’s invasion of Ukraine earlier today. Those of you who are able to, I ask that you take time out from whatever you are doing at 3pm (ET) today to call upon the light to uphold this planet in the presence of expanding darkness, and specifically to uphold the people of Ukraine.

You may think that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a political and military action, brought about by expansionist wishes on the part of Russia, but it is more than that. It is an energetic force that is affecting the balance of light and dark on the planet, and that is why I am asking you to call upon the light at 3pm today for the planet as a whole. What you do matters. Please join me and the others around the globe who are praying for the Earth.

Vacillating: Helplessness, Anger, and Prayer

"...The problem of helplessness, in addition to the original mental, emotional, or physical pain it seeks to alter, is twofold. On the one hand, it is challenged on an ego level as a result of the ego’s not being in control in the ways that it has been accustomed to. On the other, it is also challenged by dark energies that seek to interfere with the purification process through amplifying thoughts that are self-denigrating or self-accusatory. These thoughts imply that there is no point in surrendering to Divine will in this way and that what is really needed is action in a different direction.

Thus, the persistence needed during the purification process is challenged both by the voice of one’s own ego which chafes against having to submit to conditions it would rather not endure, and by energies of darkness which amplify feelings of impatience, doubt, and frustration, and support feelings of foolishness or failure that result from not being able to ‘do something’ to make things better.

In the course of the purification process, it becomes evident that what on one level appears as helplessness, is, at another level, the opposite, namely, the empowerment of the soul to take charge of one’s life in a whole new way — a way that was not possible before. Therefore, what one gives away in the way of authority on the level of the smaller self, also becomes what one receives from the higher levels of one’s being in the way of guidance, help, support, and light."

Hello Dear Readers,

From the first moments I became consciously aware of the violent attacks on the peoples of the Ukraine, I have felt my heart in two places.

I will admit that first more immediate place is one of helplessness and anger.

The second is helplessness and prayer.

Being of two hearts, there are moments where I can hold that all is in the Divine, that God is with the Ukrainian peoples. In the next moments when I see a tank intentionally run over a civilian car, an orphanage bombed, hospitals bombed, children’s schools bombed, neighborhoods destroyed - in these moments, this is where my heart aligns with the energies of helplessness and anger.

Then my heart feels glimmers of hope when I witness the man whose car was run over by the tank was rescued, by people who left their homes to help him, when I see photos of people gathering together with great courage to protest the warring actions of their leaders - in Russia - knowing the consequences. My heart is filled with great admiration and respect for the President Zelensky of Ukraine who when offered an airlift by the United States government to leave the conflict and avoid being killed, he stated that he would stay to be with the people he serves, knowing that death stalks he and his family. The courage of the Ukrainian peoples gives my heart strength for the future, and their sorrows and sufferings inflicted upon them brings such sorrow and pain to my heart which feels so helpless. I find my heart vacillating from prayer-fullness, sorrow, helplessness, anger, prayer.

This is not the first conflict I have witnessed where this same dilemma of the heart which wants to trust in the Divine plan and the heart which witnesses in the moment embodied souls aligned with the energies of darkness at work and my feelings of anger and helplessness.

And so I vacillate, I pray, I light candles, I hold the suffering in my heart knowing that we are all connected and that energies can travel from one soul to other souls, and I cry, and I feel helpless. Sometimes I can hold the experiences of helplessness, and sometimes I just can’t. My anger comes forth and even then I am aware that I must surrender my anger to the Divine.

So round and round I go. Watching the West Bank being destroyed, Ukraine being destroyed, Syria being destroyed, homeless settlements destroyed, the planet destroyed.

I would like to be a teacher who reflects to you, Dear Readers consistent strength and trust in times of darkness but I am in these moments in time, I am of two hearts. And both of them are so very, very, sad.

I am also aware that I am not alone, and so this posting is for all embodied souls who are moving forward in a time of great darkness, seeking to stay on the path of Light and trust.

Glory be to the Peoples of Ukraine.

Holding helplessness on one’s own often creates distress, anxiety, and a fear of the future, especially when energies of opposition and separation amplify these feelings. This is not the case when one brings helplessness to God, for then one can receive the strengthening that comes from holding helplessness in love, in return for one’s gift of trust, hope, and surrender.

Many, however, do not yet trust this arrangement. They fear helplessness and feel alone with it. They do not remember how to bring helplessness to God and so they enact the only defense they know which creates a greater feeling of empowerment, namely, to become angry. Beloved Ones, this defense is not a real defense. It is a cover over fear of the flimsiest kind. For even if one is angry and in one moment reduces the sense of fear and helplessness, in the next moment these feelings will return when life presents one with similar conditions, causing one to feel helpless again.

The way of bringing helplessness to God is the way of bringing one’s pain to that Divine Heart that can hold it along with one’s human heart. At the same time, one can ask to feel held and upheld through the experience, knowing that no experience comes to the self that does not have a greater gift of learning in it.

Racist Nomenclature - "Awake Not Woke"

Religious patriots, see you not?

See you not the energies of fear and trepidation brought forth by your actions?

See you not how your political arrogance and evangelical hubris brings forth terror to the hearts of those who are not made in the image and likeness of your hardened hearts?

I AM made me in way in which I am unable to turn a blind eye to racism and racist political propaganda.

Last year, in Orlando Florida during CPAC, a Nazi symbol was found to be embedded into the design of the stage. This year, the contempt and racism are no longer deceptively hidden, nor denied, as its presence was behind every speaker, viewed in every photo, and broadcasted on multiple media platforms. Its presence was seen on marquis, flyers, programs, badges, cards and decals - every where the eye turned to ‘see’.

“Awake Not Woke.”

For those who may be unaware, this turn of phrase is a slur, an insult. I believe in my heart that this phrase is weaponized to induce pain, to ‘own’ another mentally or spiritually, and to incite fear - couched in White Christian Nationalism and the rising political power seeking to overturn American Democracy at large.

"Oh, Johanna, you’re reading too much into this.”

I have spent near twenty years in service to the mission of the Christ through my prophetic work, perceiving these energies first manifesting through various forms of religious intolerance's, racism and warring, now metamorphosing into their true objective and nature, a more pure and punitive form of White Christian Nationalism.

“Awake Not Woke” is part of a greater political-theocratic movement which seeks to not only treat punitively those who are not made in their image and likeness, it is part of a coalition of the self-anointed righteous who seek to ban the triggering of uncomfortable feelings, the teaching of disturbing historical truths, the banning of the LGBTQ community, the banning of reproductive rights, the banning of “CRT” which in it’s essence is extolling the right freely express bigotedness and prejudices, as well as the punitive punishing of those ‘Other” who are not made in their image and likeness. “Not made in their image and likeness” - I am aware of repeating this phrase Dear Readers. I do this to highlight how dangerous to the American experiment these energies and beliefs systems are.

We who can see, are witnessing a departure from democratic values and thinking which has already occurred. This seemingly small movement, lampooned by some, has infiltrated the halls of politics not only in the former President, throughout the political system. Its goals? A seeking to create a power structure based on White Identity Politics and Radical Christian teachings separated from the teachings of Christ Jesus.

Long held hatreds, biases, prejudices rise to the surface for all to see.

A separation of the wheat from the chaff.*

The chaff believing itself to be of the Light seeks to make all in their image and likeness.

Freedoms desecrated, rights desecrated.

“You are not like us — you do not belong!”

“You are not real Americans!” Cry the doctrinal and evangelical of the new monarchy of the republic.

Hardened hearts turn from the meek towards the gilded voices of intolerance.

Recollections of the Origins of the Phrase “Woke’

The phrase “Woke” originated in African American culture. The phrase ‘Woke” as I remember its genus, was part of an awakening, a spiritual and intellectual flowering within mostly, but not all, the youth of African American culture. I recall it was a means of expressing the awakening awareness of the historical racial prejudices and biases embedded within the laws, politics, culture, religion - every aspect of American society.

The phrase ‘Woke’ as I remember it, was then adopted by many who wished to support Black Lives Matter as well as friends and loved ones in the Black community. During this time it also began to be associated with those who had political leanings which were progressive.

The next adoption of the phrase ‘Woke’ came from variants of White Religious Nationalist movements who took the term and changed its meaning into a derogatory slur used euphemistically against Black culture, and as well as anyone else, ie “Other’, who’s views deviated from the rigid religious, political, theocratic, and White nationalist views of a growing minority.

Theocratic Autocrats

When the politicians become the high priests of a national religious-political movement than Democracy itself is in danger of being lost. For Democracy is based on the many being represented in the one, E Pluribusunum. Democracy is based in equity, it is based on the many working together, not on the few controlling the many. Democracy is based not in theocracy and a nationalism which deems ‘Other’ as the enemy and evil, rather through a political experiment of all expressing the truth of who they are, how I AM made them.

A dark time comes before the People of the Nation of the Free, the criminalization of behaviors and opinions of those who are not in the image and likeness of the crusader patriots called to “save the Nation.”
