Sorrow and love are bound to time’s passage.
For as long as there are any who suffer, the heart
of compassion will feel sorrow.
And as long as anything that is loved can be lost,
the heart of love will feel pain.

We do not understand pain, not that it exists but why it exists. On the journey toward wholeness,
pain accelerates the forward movement of consciousness in the direction of what it needs to learn.
In the future, pain will no longer be needed, for alignment with the
Source of life will create the same movement forward.

"...Today, as many suffer from physical symptoms that have both diagnosed and undiagnosed origins, it is important to understand that there is no physical symptom, issue, or problem that cannot be changed by altering the energetic conditions that produce it, as well as the conditions of consciousness that give rise to it.

All symptoms that arise within the physical level of our being represent part of a healing theme or area of healing that our soul has chosen to take on prior to taking birth. It is not that the precise symptom is chosen, but rather that the area of vulnerability on the physical level represents an energetic limitation within the energy body, as well as a limitation in consciousness. In both cases, spiritual light which maintains the physical body in its corporeal life has become blocked or constrained.

In addition to having chosen healing themes prior to taking birth which manifest later on as physical symptoms, there are also energies of separation or opposition to light that many experience, whether they come from within one’s own energy body or from something external to the self. These energies can appear within a single lifetime and be related to one’s spiritual purpose during that lifetime, or they can transfer from lifetime to lifetime. Such energies may lay dormant for a long while, only to emerge when there is greater light present. This light allows greater healing to take place, and the energies of opposition to activate and become more visible. Though energies of opposition to light are part of the cosmic picture of Creation, they are often experienced as belonging to the self, not as external to the self.

This is the case with many of us today. Energies of opposition to light that have been dormant for some time, as a result of activation by greater light on the Earth, often create symptoms through a direct influence upon the physical body. (Remember that the energy body and the physical body are not separate from each other, but rather interpenetrate each other). As a result, it is sometimes difficult to tell whether a physical symptom that arises should be approached as a physical-level problem or as one that has been introduced from a different level, the level of energy. Such energies of opposition are not personal, though they may be experienced as such. They are part of Creation and of the drama of light and darkness interacting on the physical plane. Energies that are not light influence far more of our individual and collective functioning than we have heretofore been aware of..."

“Do not be afraid of your emotions,
for they are life moving through you.
Yet, seek to bring them into accordance
with love,
for love is the very pulse of life around
which all else must gravitate.”

‘Loving Service: The Sacrifice of Suffering’

“There are souls who, because of their love for the Earth, for humanity, and for the possibility of what human beings can become, choose to embody suffering in order to make possible that future Earth and those future human beings. This is the mission of the Christ – the transformation of darkness into light which brings with it the limitation that a soul who has chosen this mission experiences. The transformation of darkness into light makes possible the opening of a path for many human beings.”

‘Alignment and the Healing of Disillusionment’

“The stability of our inner being is up to us. It’s not up to the world. It’s not up to life in its external dimension.
Emotional currents, mental currents, actions, events impinge on us from all sides, and so it’s easy to get swept away.
How do we remain aligned with a center of peace, hope, and trust in the presence of all that is happening?”

“…Sometimes the changes we seek are slow and require long periods of repeated experience in order to become established within. Sometimes years or even lifetimes are needed. But the gift in this, no matter how long it takes, is the knowledge that everything is available for our healing if we are open to it. God’s life is magical in this regard, and becomes even more so as we embrace it. When we ask for help to change, life becomes an even greater partner in our healing and presents us with repeated opportunities for growth and learning. The task, then, is to be present to life, to be present to what is so that we may interact with it gracefully instead of wanting it to be some other way.

Though God’s light is always present in life, as it becomes stronger due to changes on the earth and also within our own bodies and hearts, it penetrates the thick walls of habit, resistance, fear, and isolation that we have created around our heart and begins to melt away resistance and pain. This is the purpose of purification— to bring to us the gift of light that can transform life. Many of us have waited a long time for healing to occur in the wounded places of our self, realizing that change in the deepest areas of pain or fear would not be easy. Purification allows us to begin to see how to change and what to let go of, recognizing that all is possible now.

When we begin the process of purification, we ask to be shown what we need to see about ourselves in order to heal. This asking brings to us the inner and outer events that are needed in order for us to let go of past perceptions and projections. It is for this reason that all that is needed in the way of healing can take place in the present. Purification teaches us about the hidden places of our self that have been fearful of exposure to the light of awareness. It also reveals to us the planfulness of life, to bring to us learning of a specific kind so that we may learn in ways that have not been possible before.

In order to be fully open to the purification process, it is important to live in the present so that we can fully witness the events brought about by God’s grace and light. If we are preoccupied with the past or with the future, or too busy with other things that claim a higher priority, we can allow much to go by while remaining unconscious. The choice for consciousness must be made again and again concerning our thoughts and feelings as we witness things that we have not seen before. As transformation begins to take place and awareness expands, life becomes a perpetual unfolding of the new. Indeed, we find ourselves always becoming new, and our journey continually offering to us opportunities for growth and healing.

To be ‘present in the present’ is something that must be learned at deeper and deeper levels of our being. For many, it is a completely different way of life — a way that is conscious rather than unaware. This new way of life involves, among other things, the following factors: being visible, being responsible, and being grateful.

Visibility in life means showing ourselves — expressing who we are in all the many ways we have for that expression. It means being seen. For some, there is fear and difficulty in doing this, and so becoming present is a spiritual task that often must be learned in increments.

Responsibility in life means claiming the space that we occupy and that our bodies inhabit. Assuming responsibility for the shape of our life and for the space we inhabit are basic tenets of purification. These principles are based on the understanding that we are uniquely suited to the life that we have been given and that on a soul-level we have chosen, and that we therefore have a responsibility to God and to ourselves to interact with this life in the highest possible way.

Gratitude involves appreciation for what life brings to us. It reaches out to life and causes us to want more life. Such wanting fosters presentness much more than if we were indifferent or resentful. Gratitude allows us to return life to Life in a gesture of thankfulness.

To become present is the challenge of purification and of healing. It is to be willing to see with new eyes and to hear with new ears. It is to be willing to risk new insights. What we see may not please us. We may see the limitations we still carry in every area that opens before us. Nevertheless, supported by God’s holy love and light, no matter what we see, we are sustained, for this love allows us to expand past the barriers we have formerly created for our own protection, enabling us to go further beyond them than we had previously thought possible…”

“Shock dismantles all that we know to be true, and in its place creates a loss of grounding in the reality of that which is familiar. Shock leads to numbness, feeling dazed, feeling out of oneself, and difficulty recognizing what is happening. In the presence of shock, one is trying to absorb and integrate a new reality.

Because we are psycho-physical organisms, shock can affect all levels of our psychic and physical functioning, interrupting life as we know it and bringing it to a halt. All of this takes place as part of a process of healing, an effort to get over that which has caused the shock in the first place.

On the mental and emotional level, because of the intensity of the event that has given rise to shock, one may have the feeling that it is impossible to go on living. The period of feeling dazed, then, may be seen as

There is a great need in the presence of shock to be in an environment in which patience can be practiced and the body and mind allowed time to recover without being forced to do so prematurely. One must trust this timing, knowing that the internal process that one goes through operates according to an intelligence of its own….”

"...We still think of bodies as objects and perceive them according to their outer appearance. We still evaluate them according to how well or how poorly they meet the current cultural standard of what we think an ideal body should look like or act like. Nevertheless, the eyes of the Divine do not behold things in this manner which involves the surface level of perception. These eyes see, and witness, and understand why and how this particular body was chosen by the soul before taking birth. They see, and witness, and know why the present physical deficits or limitations, while not perceived as beautiful from the standpoint of the observing ego, are beautiful in terms of the noble goals that the soul has chosen in order to accomplish its sacred work within a given lifetime.

At the most basic level, each body is chosen specifically and perfectly for the work that it is being asked to do within a given lifetime. It is chosen in perfection for the way it will approach that work, not in terms of success or failure according to an outer standard of 'doing,' but according to an inner standard of what this particular body will do to create progress in the movement of the embodied soul toward greater healing and wholeness.

Even bodies that cannot survive long on the physical plane due to severe malformations or illnesses have this quality of beauty. They contain the same measure of Divine life in the midst of whatever deficits will only permit a short physical life. For the length of the physical life does not determine nor is it a measure of the worth or beauty of the body. Even those bodies that last on Earth for only a few minutes or a few breaths, contain the same Divine life within them as those that remain on Earth for eighty or ninety years. Divine life does not depend on longevity, nor on the physical condition of the body.

When humanity emerges more fully into a reclaiming of its spiritual sensibilities, many of which are located within the body, it will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that the energy that is contained within the atoms and subatomic particles of the body is not just physical energy but spiritual energy as well. Humanity at that time will understand that the interface between the spiritual and the physical on the level of quantum reality, the reality of energy and of tiny particles, is a very thin interface. In the presence of light expanding today, affecting the physical life of the Earth and of all bodies that inhabit the Earth, this spiritual-physical interface has become even thinner than it was before, with transmission of energy from the higher planes of one's being made much easier by the greater light present within the physical plane. Thus, the body becomes a more open vessel to receive the imprint of the higher self, and like a plant that absorbs the sun's rays and turns them into the products of photosynthesis, so, too, does the physical body receive the currents of higher energy and turn them into nourishment for all aspects of the embodied self.

It is in this way that the sacred body is becoming more empowered to represent the higher self, and less separate, vibrationally, from that higher self..."
