THE CHANGING SHAPE OF REALITY

There is no 'out there.' There is nothing 'solid' that you are seeing, hearing, or touching. All of what is 'out there' is the reality that is based on what is 'in here,' in your inner attitudes, perceptions, and ways of looking at life. What you consider to be 'external reality' is shaped by projections, taken in this sense to mean the projection of inner attitudes, meanings, and interpretations onto outer events, people, situations, and even onto objects.

We are becoming more accustomed to the idea that nothing is solid, that all is energy in motion. However, as a collective consciousness, as a collective body of the One we are not there yet. We have not yet discovered the way in which 'projection' determines everything we see and everything we respond to, causing us to think it is 'real' and 'solid' and 'immutable.'

Some of us have learned through experience that no two people view colors in the same way, or sounds, or music, or even the smell of fresh country air. What we take in of external stimuli is filtered through our needs, wants, beliefs, and desires, as well as by our hopes, dreams, expectations, and deeper sense of truth. As we embrace the idea that all is energy and that what we hold to be 'reality' is mutable, that is, that it can be changed when our inner perceptions and beliefs change, we begin to turn inward. We begin to take more responsibility for our process of perceiving and for the choices we make about how we view things. For, indeed, beloved ones, perception is a choice as much as anything else is a choice. Because we are, for the most part, still deeply embedded in the emotional reality we carry, it often seems that it is not a choice, that there is only one way to view things. But this is not the truth. There are many ways to view things and the power we give to the motivation to love determines a great deal about how we will view life.

If we give importance to the motivation to love, if we reject motives that we feel are less loving and less worthy, we allow the light of the Divine to enter us which creates a greater possibility for separating from other more negative emotions we have carried. If we give the motivation to love importance, it becomes the prism or filter through which we begin to see things. In this process, we begin to see more and more clearly where we approach our ideal of love, and where we stray far from it.

However, the possibility also exists for a moment, a year, a lifetime, or in specific and particular situations to embrace and hold to an emotional motivation that is not love. Then, we enter a different vibrational reality, one that gives us less access to the Divine light that can help and heal us, and we remain for longer periods of time in the embedded emotional matrix that we have been in and are continuing to create for ourselves.

Our perception of the world is based on these motivational choices that we make, on the beliefs and values that we hold, and on what we choose to pay attention to. The world as seen through our eyes is a different physical world than the world as seen through our neighbor's eyes. This is because inwardly we are paying attention to different things. We are giving importance to different things. And so our view of outer reality reflects this.

Yet, because we are in transition, because we are here at a time on Earth in which light is expanding, it is also drawing us toward our own deeper truth and away from the more surface emotions that we have carried, sometimes for a very long time. It is drawing us to the love that is our essential nature. As we choose to let go of the lesser emotions we may have clung to, we allow ourselves to go deeper into the truth that resides within the deepest layers of our hearts and within our soul, and then this truth which is all about love becomes the motivation through which we view the world.

We are each, beloved ones, on our way toward full reunion with our deeper truth.
We are each being called to relinquish past identities and beliefs in favor of a new identity that is more real.

Now, at this time of great opening and of great change, we need to look closely and carefully at the values we are holding within ourselves, for these values are shaping our outer lives. In doing this, all help shall be given, for the purposes of holy light are to bring each and every embodied soul into full and complete wholeness within themselves so that a life that is truly human and Divine can be lived on Earth, and so that all traces of separation can come to an end.

All is Energy
A new perspective is emerging concerning the nature of interconnected reality and it is one of our continual relationship with all that is. This is not just a metaphysical concept, however, but an energetic reality that we become more aware of as light within us increases. (June 9, 2013)

"Can I Be Free if You Are Not?"

I posted this post during the One World Meditation, knowing the power of the collective frequencies of love, which can hold and transform the darkest moments of human consciousness. For some the following images may be difficult to witness. For others, shocking. My intent always, is to serve those who suffer, and to bring light to places within the human consciousness where far too often we forget that we are not separate from each other.

What is to be the role of the people whom the country has marginalized by law and custom and with state-sanctioned violence for most of their time on this soil? How might these now 45 million people, still the most segregated of all groups in America, partake of the full fruits of citizenship? How can deeply embedded racial hierarchies be overcome?

Too many times have similar scenes of suffering been witnessed by my heart. (See following photos.)

The man whom is not identified, already had four officers on top of him, subduing him, when the fifth officer came and shot him with the taser. The taser is aimed towards the chest of the man being held down by four officers, near his heart.

I experienced many visions (as perception which I felt in my body) throughout the time I was witnessing these photos of the arrest of this unknown man of African American decent.

1. I felt as if I was witnessing an event which unfolded thousands of times, from the days of slavery.

2. I felt as if I was simultaneously perceiving energies from actions engaged upon the peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan since America's invasion of these countries.

3. I felt in my body, the horror of using a weapon which electrocutes, on a man whom already had four men holding him down. There seemed to be no indication that any of the officers involved were at risk of harm - and none of them seems to have intervened to stop the excessive use of force.

4. I felt as if I was witnessing an act of torture, as four able bodied men, held down one man, whilst a fifth, electrocuted the pinned down man in the chest.

5. I felt as if I was witnessing through this series of photos, thousands of deaths of Black Americans at the hands of Caucasian Americans, including the horror of lynchings, where after the torture, or abuse, or a murder had been completed, everyone stood around the body, talking and acting as if the person harmed had no value, nor was compassion shown for the suffering. I felt similar energies in what happened to Tamir Rice as he lay on the ground dying and the officers who shot him denying him any help, with his sister being arrested for trying to comfort her brother and his mother being denied the ability to comfort her dying son.

Our self-righteousness and moral superiority in relation to other cultures that we don't understand must be transformed into a willingness to accord dignity and respect to all who are different from us.

When we view images of violence, we need to understand that there is desecration as it relates to the body, and there is desecration as it relates to the soul. Both involve a diminishment of what is sacred in its origin, and both compel the viewer of 'such images to temporarily and to varying degrees to identify with the perspective of the images being presented.

More recently, there has also been an attempt to redefine torture so that it does not focus on the experience of extreme pain or distress caused to the recipient or the motive of the abuser, but rather measures whether the harm done was "equivalent in intensity to the pain accompanying serious physical injury, such as organ failure, impairment of bodily function, or even death." (See: Bybee Memo, 2002).

'Bearing witness' means that we do not allow ourselves to become numb. We do not allow ourselves to become dehumanized in our language, in our feeling, in our witnessing of the suffering of others. Nor do we sink into despair. In refusing to become numb, we remain in relationship to the suffering of mankind. We allow shock to turn into sadness, and sadness to turn into love. We bring our full spiritual intention and the power of our hearts to the suffering, and through our caring, we help uphold those who have fallen, who have suffered loss, who have been victimized at the hands of terrorists and others.

We cannot afford to become numb or distant. We must find the spiritual strength to remain awake to what is actually taking place in the world - to what is sweeping through the world as a current of pain that affects the entire earth. Of course there is also the expansion of light that is taking place. If that were not true, there would be nothing to hold onto in the presence of great suffering. But it is true, and therefore we must endeavor, all of the time, to stay aligned with the power of our hearts and the power of light so that we can be of help to those who cannot see or feel it - to those caught up in the pain and the suffering for whom we remain as advocates, guardians, brothers, and friends.

It is time for us to become accountable.

Our very existence as a free and virtuous nation, founded on the highest ideals of mankind, is at stake. As individuals and as a nation, it is time for us to become accountable not only for our actions, but for our consciousness which gives rise to these actions. We each may feel very small in our capacity to influence those who govern in our name, but we are in fact large. If our consciousness demands truth, then our leaders will become more truthful. If our consciousness requires selflessness and we each start thinking selflessly, then our governing officials will have a new directive guiding them. And if having more becomes less important so that others may thrive, then the foundations of much of what drives us today, economically and politically, will change.

WHAT IS UNITY?

Unity cannot claim to be true to its origins and meaning if it allows even one other to be held as less worthy than the rest.

...There are many people hungry today for a vision of the world in which people do not hurt each other, in which anger and indifference no longer take the toll in human life and in human pain that they presently do, and in which conflicts between people, groups, parties, cultures, and nations can be resolved peacefully, without recourse to violence, force, or denial of the right to respect that each human being must be accorded.

This vision of unity is awakening in the hearts of people everywhere. It is a hunger for cooperation instead of enmity; for brotherhood instead of separation; for compassion instead of indifference; and for the perception of a world in which the human family includes all persons, no matter what their political, social, or sexual orientation, and no matter how reprehensible we feel their behavior to be.

For this vision to become real, the heart must find a way of remaining in a state of love, and of extending compassion even to those with whom we disagree vehemently – even to those who are our adversaries, recognizing in their opposition, the underlying causes of desperation, outrage, and helplessness, rather than evil. As our hearts become more expansive, we do not need to expand our acceptance of wrongdoing, for justice must still hold all people accountable for their actions, no matter how they feel. And individuals, while forgiven for their feelings, cannot be excused for their behavior where it impinges on others.

Despite such behavior, the heart and soul of all beings must be recognized. It must be recognized and it must be honored, no matter how culpable the outer behavior of another, no matter how painful to the heart. Unity can only be inclusive for all or it is not unity, but only a new and more subtle form of prejudice which cannot find respect or accord equality to all.

Within America, ‘unity’ cannot tolerate disdain toward those who disagree with us while we maintain a position of superiority and relegate others to an inferior position.

Unity cannot claim to love all, while denouncing those who are skeptical or disillusioned, or who seek a different goal.

Unity cannot sanction prejudice of any kind, and must be firmly rooted in an honest appraisal of the means, both subtle and obvious, by which people are treated unequally.

Unity cannot speak with a voice of sarcasm, derision, innuendo, ridicule, meanness, backbiting, or disrespect toward others, even while others may pursue such a course.

In a word, unity cannot claim to be true to its origins and meaning if it allows even one other to be held as less worthy than the rest.

For this to be realized as part of a political system, national ethic, or personal creed, it is necessary to stop justifying our anger and to stop acting out of fear. These are not simple things to do, however. They are deep and profound adjustments of the psyche that require us to place love in the supreme moral position within our hearts, allowing no other motive, feeling, or response to compete with it.

For this to take place, we must feel strongly the pricelessness of each human life and each human heart,
and must seek to honor and uphold each.

Furthermore, we must seek to go beyond the words we use which may articulate the ideals we cherish, to a more honest appraisal of the tone of voice we use and the feelings we display. This self-scrutiny must take place both in public and in private, within individuals and within nations, to determine whether we are just speaking of unity or practicing it as well.

This movement toward unity may not happen all at once. It may not happen without difficulty as the counterforces which create special interests and selfish motives continue to seek their day in the sun. But it will happen, it must happen, because the time for unity’s expression is now, and we are witnessing, even amongst the division and discord that still cover our interactions with others, the birth of a new way of being in the world and of a new life for the heart. This new life is infusing the deeper layers of consciousness of many people in many places, and will one day make itself visible as the dominant ethic that governs a free society and the dominant motive that governs each human heart.

For today, we participate in this transition by examining the motives of our own heart, and by allowing ourselves to notice where we have set another apart from the rest – apart from our compassion and forgiveness. When we reclaim our own hearts and allow them to beat to the new vibration of unity with greater purity, we simultaneously elevate our own consciousness, and contribute to the advent of greater peace in the world around us.

I. The Birth of Democracy

The 'birth of democracy' within the thirteen colonies which later became the United States of America is not seen today as something that is of benefit to America alone. The manifested spiritual ideal that gave birth to a nation became the foundation for democracies everywhere, for each nation according to what they were ready to receive and in what measure. The 'birth of democracy' in the eighteenth century was for the entire world a remarkable achievement, one that brought something new to the Earth in the way of spiritual evolution. This new flame of an ideal, given by the higher Realms of Light, had not been here before or even thought possible before. In its conception and in its manifestation it was wholely remarkable. And while imperfectly realized both at that time and now, it lit a spiritual spark within all nations of the world who were ready to receive it, who were ready to incorporate the new model of relationship between government and the governed.

It is from this perspective that the conflict between America as 'the leader of the world' and America as a 'participant in the world' can finally be resolved. For America's participation is by way of service, the service of bringing something new into the world for the benefit of the world, not for the benefit of self. The 'birth of democracy' is an example of this and there are other examples yet to come. In each instance, one nation can provide a focal point to bring through the next evolutionary step in humanity's consciousness. It can become a light for all nations. This is the role of America and it is a role of service. It is not a role of superiority. It is not a role of supremacy. It is to be a focal point of light through which the new comes into being.

II. The Spiritual Meaning of 'Republic'

Within a Republic representation is the keynote. This has to do with those who are elected acting on behalf of the body politic, rather than each person casting a vote representing their own interests.

Representation within a Republic is both a spiritual concept and a political one. It is founded in a deep understanding of 'sacred trust' that must be assumed by those who represent others. Such trust could not happen before now because the basis for it could only be the belief that there is a 'common good,' something that benefits all, and that serving the common good could be instituted in a way in which all needs could be met. This assumption has barely been visible throughout history, and even when visible was most difficult to put into practice. To make this assumption is to know that what unifies human beings who are all embodied souls with a Divine nature is stronger than whatever appears to divide them. America has not yet achieved this level of realization, nor has any other nation. Only through recognition of the true spiritual meaning of representation and of sacred trust can the vibrational status be achieved that is needed to bring forth a unity of purpose that can realistically serve the common good. This achievement of vibrational unity is the foundation for the formation of a true Republic.

Today, the effect of fear and animosity directed toward certain government policies, toward the person of the president, and toward 'big-government' in general, creates dis-trust in government rather than trust. It thereby reverses the movement toward a true Republic that is already in motion. We witness, at present, the interference of an energy that promotes self-interest in the name of freedom, and that dissuades many from believing that serving the 'common good' can hold the interests of all. This energy would thwart the purposes of movement forward toward Republic, and create not only a movement backward toward self-interest, but also, in its instigation of fear and distrust of an intense kind, activate the willingness of each one to take matters into their own hands.

There are times and places where one's voice needs to be heard above the clamor of others who may think differently or wish to go in a different direction. The need to raise one's 'voice' is not a call to shout or to shout down others, but to preserve one's integrity of belief and feeling so that one can become a 'majority of one'.

Such a majority does not depend on numbers or on the approval of others in order to gain legitimacy. It does not seek to sway others to its own point of view in order to gain momentum for holding its own. Rather, such a voice is based on the firm foundation of spiritual integrity, and feels a moral calling to declare the beliefs by which it lives – beliefs which no other can undermine or alter through outer pressure, but which can only be altered through a change in inner perspective.

To become a 'majority of one' is to replace reliance on numbers of those holding a point of view, by the single depth of commitment of one.

It is to replace the gathering of outer force with the gathering of inner force.

It is to sanction and uphold the values of the inner being with a steadfastness that comes from alignment with inner truth and with the light that upholds this truth.

...The heart of Truth within you is a guide from the divine Oneness that can show you how to live a sacred life, a light-filled life. This is the inner Teacher that has been with you forever that knows the truth that your outer self may not be ready or willing to face. This Teacher can help you to see, and know, and feel, what you may have been afraid to see, or unable to know.

Therefore, beloved, pray to connect with this Teacher of Truth within you. Ask to feel the wisdom that lives at your core. Know that this wisdom is of God, and that you carry it within yourself as part of your Divine being.

Ask to be healed of all that prevents you from touching your deep inner knowing.
