Light and Darkness in the Public Arena

When you look at the national or world stage with a contemplative eye, it is possible to see which forces, positions, people, and points of view polarize a discussion, and which perspectives unify and create greater harmony. This is a signpost to the operation of light and darkness in the public arena. Words, positions, and arguments that create fear, that sub-divide a nation into irreconcilable groups, or a planet into groups that are acceptable and those who are not, are infused by the ongoing energy of separation and fear which is another way of describing the energy of darkness.

Light unifies. It creates greater wholes. It builds a willingness to trust and a need to accord to all the presumption of fundamental humanity, based on respect. It seeks to redefine what 'enemies' are, and to do away with that term in favor of a deeper explanation of human motives. It recognizes forces that seek to limit freedom and that seek to disrespect the rights of others, but it does not rely on hatred or fear in order to respond to these forces."

The 'we' and 'them' mentality is a hallmark of the time of separation. We are leaving that time and entering one in which there are no exclusions, since all is held in God. To enter this time fully, fear must be let go of, not activated, and so wherever fear is activated and promoted, the contemplative eye must recognize the backlash of forces that are seeking to prevent the expansion of light.

To see the drama of light and darkness on the world stage and to remain at peace, one must know deeply within one's being that light is stronger than darkness. This may not show itself immediately in every situation, but the thrust of growth, evolution, and transformation is, and will be, the overturning of all that limits freedom on an individual level and on a collective level as well. All that promotes fear and division is being replaced by light's purposes.

We enter this time humbly and gratefully, standing with the forces of light that may be seen through the remaining conflicts that are still present on the world stage. Namaste.

WHAT IS SPIRITUAL ACTIVISM?

Spiritual activism is an activism of the heart that wishes to participate in the healing of the world, and makes a commitment to that intention. This is no small thing. It is the means by which a spiritual practice is undertaken of any kind that resonates with the heart and soul, not for the benefit of self but for the benefit of the world.

As the heart opens to become more aware of the suffering of others, it asks to know what can be done to alleviate the pain of the world? It sees the world as so large and the suffering so great, and wonders what it is that one single individual can do?

This is the authentic cry of the heart that wishes to do more and feels helpless. It wishes that God would do more, and feels helpless. It wishes that significant change in human consciousness would arrive so that suffering would decrease, and in the presence of that waiting feels helpless.

The heart that bears the suffering of the world to any degree is already doing something that is of value to the world. And the heart that commits itself to bearing the suffering of the world and uplifting this suffering into the oneness and power of Divine light and love is doing even more to contribute to the healing of all.

Commitment does not mean feeling the pain and despair of others at the same level of intensity with which it is felt by those who go hungry, or who are afraid for their lives, or who have no means of protecting their children, or who feel trapped in poverty, or who languish in prisons, or who suffer from drug abuse, or who are victims of ongoing civil strife. It does not mean meeting despair with despair, hopelessness with hopelessness. This would only submerge two instead of one in that level of feeling at a time when the purpose is upliftment; when the purpose is comfort.

Commitment means acting as a bridge between that intense suffering and the place within us that connects with the creative Divine action that can both hold it and heal it. Within this place we know and acknowledge the pain of others, and seek to redeem it by bringing it to the Divine Oneness that can uplift and heal all. Thus, it is that those dedicated spiritual beings who, in times gone by and in the present as well, were and are the desert Fathers within the Christian tradition; or who were and are the yogic masters within the Hindu tradition; or who were and are the renunciates within the Buddhist tradition, all of whom live lives of spiritual activism by virtue of their commitment to uplifting and transforming the suffering of the world through acting as an inner bridge.

Long ago the phrase 'spiritual materialism' was coined to represent the transfer of the ego and its functions to the realm of spirituality in which goals were defined and achievements hoped for that were for the self and the fulfillment of one's own spiritual desires. Spiritual activism moves us in a different direction, the direction of selfless love, the direction of giving without a clear outcome, the direction of commitment to the heart's purposes without the mind's being able to know exactly how success or lack of it may be defined. It is trusting in the interconnectedness of all of life to manifest the healing of suffering along the network of oneness that is everpresent and that joins us vibrationally with the rest of the world.

Not everyone may feel ready to do this, for some are more oriented toward 'doing' in a more visible way, with more visible outcomes to the 'doing.' This is natural and also in some instances necessary, for each of us has a long history as souls performing various deeds that affect others, and outward action that feels like it is motivated by an inner need for expression is often initiated as a result of our soul's wish to complete something or heal something from our own past. In some instances such outer action can also be initiated because it is more in keeping with our current soul's purpose in the present lifetime.

What is important, however, is to end the distinction between 'outer' and 'inner' in relation to participating in the healing of the world. One can be 'active' in both domains. We have grown accustomed to giving power to what we can see because we have relied on our physical senses to let us know what is happening, what is being accomplished. As we grow, spiritually, we come to rely more on our spiritual senses to know what is happening and what is being accomplished. We come to trust more in the invisible that has become more real than the visible. Both are parts of the One

Patience is needed for either kind of activism, patience and trust that the world of consciousness and energy carries our prayers not only to the Source that is the Creator, that to many has seemed far away from the Earth and her cries, but also to the same Source that lives within the Earth and is a part of her, as it is a part of each living being. This inner Source also hears all cries, responds to all suffering, knows the tears of pain that each being carries, know the pain of the planetary body as well, and seeks in all ways to respond to prayers for healing with avenues of approach that lead to that healing.

We, who seek to become spiritual activists must believe in the unity of souls and the oneness of life. We must give power to our unity with all in order to redefine what we can do to assist all, for our power to do so is much greater than we may have imagined. Our power as individuals to assist all is not based on our being a separated individual entity, but on our being an individual point of consciousness within a totality that is seamless. As a result, what we give of our hearts, what we think, feel, or do, ripples out from us along an invisible network to influence the consciousness of all.

This way of viewing spiritual activism makes of each of us a great source of healing, and we need to re-conceive of ourselves in this way. We are more powerful than what we have believed ourselves to be because we are connected in the most intimate way with all. And when our love and prayers for healing and our awareness of being part of All link up to address the suffering of the world or of any part of it, our wishes manifest as currents of energy that move toward the object of our love and join with all other currents that hold the same intentions.

May each of us come to know the capacity for healing that is present within us because we are One. May each of us come to cherish that connection, for it is a gift of Love from the One who is All, and the power of it can heal the world.

The World is Awakening

...When the world looks discouraging to you, when you feel, as many do, that things are out of control, when you sense darkness hovering around the edges of so many things, creating danger in public places, creating the fear of reprisals for standing for truth, creating a loss of hope related to climatic changes, know this: that in the presence of darkness the world is awakening, and the potential for hearing, sensing, and knowing the truths that one's own soul carries is becoming ever more possible.

Begin with yourself. Begin with your own determination to live as a soul upon the Earth to the best of your ability and awareness of what that means. Allow your deeper being to become more real and less influenced by the opinions of others and the perspectives that they hold. It is this deeper being that belongs to each embodied soul and to you, beloved one, that is seeking greater expression at this time in our collective history. Know that it is there. Know that your soul is longing to express as the deeper truth that you carry as a gift to the world.

Many do not feel that their presence matters much. Some feel that they are too small to make a difference in relation to how the world works. This is never true. The interconnectedness of life is an everpresent reality. Seed thoughts of one become the catalytic agent for seed thoughts of many. This is how collective consciousness becomes changed - by virtue of the fact that all of life is connected and you are connected to every other soul on Earth. Therefore, never think that your own 'small' contribution does not and cannot make a difference. It can and it does.

All that you have waited for is germinating now. The problem of waiting is the problem of trust, the knowing that what is presently invisible will become visible. Those whose hearts are embedded in the light know this. They trust this. For them what is invisible is more real than what is visible. Your own heart must seek this alignment, this truth of God's reality. No matter where you are with the personal challenges that life is bringing to you, know that profound healing is taking place all of the time in and through these challenges, in and through the circumstances that life is bringing to you. This is the magnificence of Divine reality, that brings out of all circumstances including those that are painful, the full forward motion of the soul's expression upon the Earth.

This is the meaning of freedom, beloved ones. It is the freedom to be yourself and it is a freedom that is growing. It is not a freedom that depends upon anyone else or on any external circumstance at all. It is a freedom that is your inherent birthright as a Divine creation, here to express the holiness and light of your own truth.

As you go through your days, try to align with this deeper truth. See this as your mission and purpose, namely, to bring the soul reality that you carry and are into your embodied life for your own sake and for the sake of Life. May all blessings be with you in this sacred endeavor.

I found this Teaching to be so spiritually nourishing that as I was listening to the Teaching being revealed, I was having thoughts about how much I wanted to share it with you Dear Readers. with love, Johanna

"...Alignment is an attunement internally to the higher part of yourself that wants to be joined with Divine Intention. The higher part of yourself is a vibration, a vibration that is more attuned or closer to in frequency, the vibration of Light, the light of your own spirit, the Light of God, the Light of Higher Realms. Light carries Divine intention, will, intelligence, love.

There are many souls on the earth who wish to serve God, many, many. And there are many souls on the earth today who wish to serve others, and wish to serve life, many, many, coming from all the traditions of the worlds spiritual life. Of those large number of people who wish to serve God, many have arrived at a place of purity of intention, and are able to give from that purity of intention. But many others get bogged down because of the transfer of ego needs. Wanting to be liked, wanting not to be rejected, judgements about groups of people that have different values, those are ego needs - feelings of fear of certain others, prejudice and so forth.

Ego needs compromise the natural state of alignment. And what that ends up being, what that ends up doing, is that we say to ourselves, 'we feel comfortable here, but we do not feel comfortable here', 'we like so and so because they respond in a certain way to us, but we don't like so and so because we're not getting any feedback that's positive. So that we divide up the world into those we bestow our love upon and those we don't. And then we attribute the cause of that to an external cause. 'It's because they are doing such and such, it is because they're hurting such and such, it's because what ever it is because of." We establish a causality in our own mind to justify the limitation of our own love. And that seems natural because the world is filled with ego needs - liking and disliking being the short hand terms for that - judging. That's not th eplace of the soul, that's not the place of God.

God's mercy falls like rain from heaven, upon the good and those who do harm alike. All are souls.

So alignment takes us out of the place of ego needs to the desire to love in that expanded universal inclusive way. Without it we are vulnerable to whatever is happening internally - emotionally, psychologically - at the moment.

... In a state of unity, everything comes from the presence of the knowledge of Oneness. Everything comes from the presence of the knowledge that there's no separation. And love is automatically present because that's the Oneness. Love is the Oneness. It bestows the natural understanding all are beloveds, all, irrespective of what they're doing, looking like, or saying."

A condensed version of a dream I had before awakening this morning.

I came upon a little girl about four or five years old wandering alone during a parade - celebration. I asked her if she wanted to come to the top of the hill alongside the parade route to watch the parade and for her Father who she had been separated from.

We climbed up the sheer face of the hill and were sitting on top by the fence. She saw her Father and said goodbye and jumped down off of the hill to join him. My work done, I tried to climb back down the hill and saw I was only able to get where I wanted to be by jumping. Due to a recent spinal injury I became full of fear that the jumping would re-injure or worse, my spine, and I clung to the fence afraid of falling, crying out for help.

A female chiropractor with two female assistants came to assess my situation. After an examination of my spine she acknowledged that there was indeed an injury. She also diagnosed, "a lack of faith". I was startled at her diagnosis and did not disagree for I knew deep within me this was true.

I heard the chiropractor say to her assistant who was preparing a bill, the charge will be $374.00". I went into a panic within because I had no idea how I could gather that much money together to pay her. The assistant then brought my bill over and I saw the charges had been reduced to $218.00.

There is lot's of wonderful symbolism as well as hope in this dream. I love the diagnosis is 'lack of faith", which is true, and something I long to heal personally - for I have seen others whom I have helped and who have been helped by the Light and watched the miraculous happen. AND, I have also served for many years, and continue to serve, engaging with some of the denser aspects of separated energies and darkness, which has caused much limitation and pain in my life and ties in with my lack of faith for my self too, a common occurrence for many who serve each in our own ways, humanity.

When I awoke and was remembering the details of the dream I added up the numbers on the second bill and they added up to 11.

"Redemption through the Resurrection"

...The importance of the shift from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection is that it brings with it an understanding of inclusiveness that transcends religious orientation or particular beliefs. The Christ within belongs to everybody, no matter what their belief. It does not require an outer adherence to Christianity nor to a particular relationship with Jesus. It requires an adherence only to the inner work of love and purification. This is the Resurrection, in its fullest, most universal meaning. It is this understanding, both historical and present, which will bring the Judaeo-Christian current to the next step of its unfoldment, and the experience of the Christ-self to every soul.

...The mission of the Christ is that work which is undertaken in order to nullify the effect of the forces of darkness upon the expansion of light, and consists of both the goal of such nullification and the means for doing so. For those souls who willingly and by individual choice became part of this mission, the work of learning to deal with the dark energies has been consistently pursued over many lifetimes. Despite the great hardship in doing so, souls have chosen to engage with this area of spiritual life in order to further the Divine plan for the earth. They have undergone great and extensive degrees of testing and training so that they would be able to perform their appointed role in the earlier times during which they lived, and also in the present time of global purification and the movement of the earth into a higher dimension of consciousness.

For such souls, the way has been difficult. Prompted by great love for the Christ and for God, they have taken on an extensive amount of learning which has been necessary in order to allow them to develop a kind of immunity in relation to the forces of darkness. For out of this immunity, to whatever degree it has been achieved, arises the ability to stand firmly as a force for light, and to act as a beacon of light for others who are in danger of being influenced by the counterforce of darkness.

In every corner of the world, and within every religion and spiritual circle, no matter what its doctrine or outer form, and no matter by what name it is called, souls have been following their own path associated with this mission, within whatever group, organization, or collective they belonged to. Now, the time has come for maximum activation of this mission, and so each will be called upon to do what they know, namely, to stand as a force for light in the presence of darkness, and to steadfastly radiate that light for the benefit of the world. Such gifts of soul to the greater humanity of which each is a part are known to God, and are, and will be, greatly blessed.

May each and every soul that has become part of the mission of the Christ know that they have already accomplished what God has asked of them, for through faithfulness and dedication throughout time, the world has been made ready for this next great leap into a new consciousness and into a new way of life.

THE COSMIC MOMENT

Not since the beginning of time and the formation of the Earth itself have the planes of matter and Spirit come together in the way that they presently are. The Alpha and Omega of creation are manifesting now as the cycle of the Earth's movement through the plane of duality and darkness is completed and a new cycle begins.

This passage has bee prophesied since the beginning, and many have wondered as to its timing and manifestation. Unlike some of the predictive images of a New Earth, the force of change comes both gently and with subtlety, and also swiftly and with intensity, depending on one's perspective in viewing it.

On an inner level, the cosmic moment brings together the inner unfoldment of the Divine heart of the world within the hearts of each embodied soul. It activates new perceptions arising from new and spontaneous intuitions of truth, and brings about change on all levels of action and perception.

On an outer level, the cosmic moment comes in large and small alternating waves of light and darkness cascading about the events of the day – the force of growth, love, reverence, and unity stirring one set of emotions, the force of separation, fear, and conflict stirring another.

Alpha and Omega – the beginning and the end – these words have a meaning that is folded into the passage of time itself. Their relationship creates the movement forward that gives rise to the force of creative evolution and to the forward motion of human consciousness. For consciousness is drawn forward as surely as the flow of spring water is drawn from greater mountain heights to the valleys below. It cascades through the rivers and streams of human vulnerability and idealism, and shapes the passage from the past to the future. Thus, inspiration, intuition, creative discovery, and the flow of life emanating from the heart all play a part in the establishment of the new. All of these are built into the human experience and form the foundation for its unfolding expression.

The original divine Word, spoken in the beginning to bring about the transformation of Spirit into matter, now becomes the resurrected Word, born out of matter itself which now reunites with its Divine Essence and core to become a fusion of light and life.

In the case of the original Word, light becomes the dust of the Earth and the fabric of each embodied soul.

In the case of the resurrected Word, the Earth and its material forms become the light of the Cosmos.
